Privacy Policy

How CanisLattice handles account information and canine data.

Effective August 29, 2026

Terms of UsePrivacy PolicyData & Content Policy

1. Information we collect

CanisLattice collects information you provide when creating and using an account, including your email address, private first and last name, account settings, and any public display or kennel information you choose to provide.

We also store canine information and content you contribute, such as dog identity and registration details, pedigrees, measurements, breed information, health or genetic test information, reproductive records, titles, notes, photos, sources, and record relationships.

2. Private account identity

Your required first and last name are used for contributor accountability and administration. They are not automatically displayed on public dog profiles. Public display names, kennel names, or contact details are shown only where the product provides a public setting for them.

3. How information is used

We use information to authenticate accounts, operate dog profiles and relationships, prevent duplicate or fraudulent records, provide sharing and ownership tools, generate growth and other analytical estimates, troubleshoot the service, investigate reports, maintain security, and improve CanisLattice.

Dog data may be used for prediction and model-improvement purposes according to the applicable model-data participation settings. Public-facing prediction explanations are designed not to expose contributor account identity or private comparison-dog details.

4. Public and shared dog information

Dog records can contain factual information that is intended to be shared or connected across pedigrees. A dog's visibility settings determine whether its full profile is publicly accessible or unlisted. Some limited relationship information about connected reference or unlisted dogs may appear in pedigrees without exposing private contributor account information.

5. Service providers and infrastructure

CanisLattice uses third-party infrastructure providers to run the service, including database/authentication, file storage, and web-hosting providers. These providers process information as necessary to provide their services to CanisLattice.

Standard technical logs may include information such as request times, browser/device information, network information, errors, and security events. These logs are used for operation, performance, troubleshooting, and abuse prevention.

6. We do not sell personal information

CanisLattice does not sell user account information to advertisers. If this business model changes in a way that materially affects how personal information is used, this policy will be updated before that change is implemented.

7. Photos and uploaded material

Photos and other uploaded material are stored to support the dog profiles or records where they were submitted. Do not upload material you do not have permission to use. Public dog photos may be visible to anyone when the associated profile or sharing method makes them public.

8. Data retention and account deletion

We retain information while it is needed to operate the service, preserve legitimate canine record relationships and provenance, resolve disputes, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations. Account deletion or removal of personal content does not necessarily require deletion of independently sourced factual dog records or pedigree relationships that are no longer tied to your personal identity.

You may contact CanisLattice to request review of account information, corrections, or deletion questions.

9. Security

We use access controls and other reasonable safeguards intended to separate private account information from public dog data. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, so users should use a unique password and protect access to their account.

10. External links and sources

Dog records may link to registries, pedigree databases, health-testing organizations, or other outside sites. Those services have their own privacy practices and terms, which CanisLattice does not control.

11. Children's privacy

CanisLattice is not designed to collect personal information from children without appropriate parent or guardian involvement. If you believe a child's personal information was submitted improperly, use the contact/report form so it can be reviewed.

12. Policy updates

This policy may change as the service adds features or changes how information is handled. Material changes will receive a new policy version and may require renewed acceptance where appropriate.
